Before and After School Care:
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a faith-based program?
No, Park Play is a community child care service that is supported by Rosewood Park Alliance Church. One does not have to attend the church in order to enroll or participate in Before and After School Care.
Does my child need to be enrolled at École St. Angela Merici School, MacNeill School or École Centennial Community School?
Yes, your child needs to be enrolled at one of the three before mentioned schools. We are delighted to provide your child with bus transportation to and from school; however, to ensure your child makes it to school on time, we are only able to provide bus transportation to these three schools.
My child attends St. Jerome Elementary School. Would my child be able to ride the bus to École Centennial Community School and then walk across the field?
Unfortunately, your child would not be able to do this. As soon as a child arrives at our program in the morning, they become our responsibility. We are uncomfortable allowing a child to walk across a field alone and our staff are not able to walk across the field with the child either.
What if my child does not require childcare every day of the week?
At this time, we are only equipped to handle full time enrollment. If you decide to enroll your child, we will require you to pay the full amount, even if your child is not with us every day.
My family is planning a two week vacation during the school year, how does this affect my payment plan?
When you enroll your child in Before and After School Care, you are reserving a spot exclusively for him or her. Therefore childcare fees will be charged for all vacation and sick days during the regular school year.
Can my child bring their own snack?
We ask that children not bring their own snacks. This will help us control the foods that are introduced to our environment and allow us to continue to provide a safe environment for children with severe food allergies.
What if I can't pick up my child?
When you create your KidCheck account, you have the ability to include the names of any person who has permission to pick up your child. When you sign into your account, you are able to click on the "Guardians" tab. On the left side of the screen, you will see "Add a New Guardian". Click here and follow the steps. For added safety, please include a current picture of any authorized guardians who may not be seen on a regular basis. We would also appreciate a heads up from you, if someone new is picking up your child.
With your KidCheck account, you also have the ability to specify individuals who are not authorized to pick up your child. If you have a court order that limits the rights of one parent in matters such as custody or visitation, please provide us with a copy. Unless your court order is on file with us, we must provide equal rights to both parents.
